This is a treat you won’t want to miss to cool yourself down. Starbucks was expanding its market share via the launch of tea beverages. People however had tended to recognize Starbucks as a coffee brand. Starbucks aimed to reinforce the connection between its brand and tea, also to embrace the awareness of Gen Z. Trendy yet simple technology could empower the brand uniqueness and create the differentiation from the milk tea market.

Strategy

Kontec performed a solid and creative O2O solution with AR technology to lead potential customers to purchase the tea drinks on-site and share them with their friends. Customers could grab an instant sweet reward by taking a photo of their bought tea picture and uploading them to the social platforms. Our campaign site could detect whether the picture was of the tea drinks, then generate a discount code for the visitors. The solution created influence among Gen Z and Millennials, with a significant rise in sales as a bright result.
